The largest sugar-podded pea-with pods as tasty as the peas inside. Sweet and crisp with 8-10 peas per pod. Vigorous vines need no support, grow 28-32″. Tolerant to powdery mildew.
You can let the pods dry and remove just the peas to use, but like other sugar snap pea varieties, the pod is just as delicious. Enjoy the entire pod with peas fresh, in savory dishes like stir fries, or preserve them by freezing.
A sugar snap pea is a true delight to pick right out of the garden and eat fresh. These sweet, crunchy peas, which you eat pod and all, are best fresh but can also be cooked, canned, and frozen. If you just can’t get enough, try adding some Super Snappy pea plants to your fall garden, which produce the largest of all sugar snap pea pods.
Transplanting
Prepare the planting bed with well-rotted manure or compost; then dig a hole or trench large enough to accommodate the entire peat pot. Slice the pot at the bottom and on the sides just to release the soil a bit, but don’t remove the seedling – the goal here is to avoid disturbing the plant’s roots. Place the entire pot into the hole or trench, about 5 inches between seedlings; then bury it, so the soil is at the same level as the pot’s soil.
